Cosmopolis School District
Welcome to the Cosmopolis School website.
Our district prides itself on caring for each individual child and our "family" atmosphere. Student learning, health, and well-being are important to every staff member. As you will note in the WASL score portion of the website, our students' academic achievements are above the state average in almost every category.
Arts are important at Cosmopolis Elementary. We offer music and band. We have several special threatre, song and poetry writing, scientific and other events during the year. Walking down the hall, one will be struck by how creative our students are. Student work is featured on every wall. We also have great support for students with special education, learning assistance, and Title 1 programs. After school reading camp and our summer school program attract a large number of students.
Parents and community volunteers are a huge part of our day-to-day operations. We have volunteers helping in the classrooms, reading with students, eating lunch with students, working in the library, maintaining our facility, planning special events, and in many other areas. Come on down! Community volunteers with all kinds of skills are needed and welcome.
Teacher Qualifications:
- Parents have the right to request information regarding the professional qualification of the student's classroom teachers.
- All of our teachers meet the No Child Left Behind requirements to be deemed "highly quailfied." What that means is that
each teacher has earned the appropriate state certification to teach in an elementary school.
- Currently, the Cosmopolis School meets Adequate Yearly Progress in all areas.
- All of our Paraprofessionals currently working in the Title I program meet the No Child Left Behind highly qualified standards.
